Arrrrrrrrr, Matey, That DisneyWorld Be a Fine Place for the LandLubbin' Sort!

See Kate's eye patch? It was a ten point cheapie prize from Chuck E. Cheese's. Who knew Orlando had more than one famous mouse in the house? Anyway, Kate won that pirate's eye patch the night before we went to the Magic Kingdom at Disney, and she wore it from breakfast until it finally fell apart late that afternoon. We rode through the Pirates of the Caribbean exhibit twice in a row, and then had the dumb luck to walk right up to Jack Sparrow (no, not really Johnny Depp, but the guy did a darn good job of acting like him acting like a pirate!) and a crew member putting on a sidewalk show. Arrrrrrrr, matey, we haven't even watched all of those movies but we thoroughly enjoyed the swashbuckling effects of the afternoon!
So, seriously, what's the verdict from this cynic who can spot moneygrubbin' setups from a mile away? DISNEY IS WORTH IT! Every minute really is quite magical. . .okay, maybe not the minutes spent forking over $3 or $4 bucks for a single ice cream treat. Those are a bit hard to swallow. Still, if you plan ahead and get good deals on hotels and travel, Disney makes an incredible vacation. Orlando is filled with other attractions besides Disney, also, but we never seem to get past playing in the terrific pool at the Nickolodean Hotel (hint-- if you have Holiday Inn points, you can use them here to get a very reasonable deal) and spending two days at Walt's house.
Anyway, it's back to the real world today :) Hey, wait a minute! That's not so bad, either, once I get caught up on all the laundry that followed us home in our suitcases. Yep, a bit more domestic goddess stuff to get done, and then I might get to torch! Hooray! Hope your Tuesday is a fine one! Mine feels like a Monday, since we just got home late last night. Better get going for now...

Oh WoW- Ang it looks like you all had an awesome time! What a vacation!

Kate's eye patch is great! It suits her! lol

When I was little..many many years ago, I used to get strange looks when I said that I wanted to be a pirate when I grew up. Of course that was some time before I was old enough to realise that Piracy (in the sense it was then) wasn't actually a real career choice & then the slightly more mundane answers of wanting to be a vet, or a hair dresser started to get mumbled.

Still - wanting to run away with Cap'n Jack isn't such a bad thing ;o)

ARRRRR, that wee lass may have to fergit the sea life and start larnin' to do her homework, or she might be walkin' the plank, LOL, ladies!

Aw, Deb, it is a shame when reality puts the smack down on fantasy, isn't it? My souvenir for the week was a book from a bookstore in Tampa-- a book all about Grace O'Malley, the pirate queen. So, far, one of the best lines has been from an older Irish woman. The woman's husband and the author of the book were discussing the wonderfully wild Grace, when the woman smiles and says something to the effect that "but after all, let's not forget she was thieving and murdering old bitty." Pfffffft...there goes the air out of Angie's seafaring fantasy :)

Hey, Marcy :) We flew this time...and as much as I like looking at your skyline late at night, I think I really like that much shorter trip, LOL. Hope you've had a great Thanksgiving!
